We are still here...

A friend of mine asked me the other day if I had lost my zeal for blogging and I figured that means it's time for a post. I haven't lost my zeal, I just have a broken camera :(. It was dropped on our vacation to Maine and I haven't taken it yet to be fixed (I am crossing my fingers that it can be fixed!).

Anyway, thanks to those of you who still check to see if I have awakened from my blogging slumber. Since I last posted, Kirk has been offered a contract job at Eli Lilly. This is a huge answer to prayer and we are excited for him to get started. However, we are still looking for other ways to produce income since it was a significant pay cut from Roche. Please keep us in your prayers.

I have also started a business with Thirty-One Gifts. If you are not familiar with it, you should check out my website www.mythirtyone.com/chrissieduncan. I love the product and am excited to get started!

Here are a few pictures from back in May that were taken by my friend Molly Hayden. If you live in the Indy area and need a photographer, you should check her out! She took some really great pictures of my kids. I haven't shared them yet because I gave them to Kirk as a Fathers Day gift, but that is over now, so please enjoy :).

This kid is funny...

Elijah gets out of bed just about every night . One night, I found him and Mr. Giraffe sleeping on his floor for the night.
The next night, I found him sleeping with all of his clothes (his drawers were emptied).

Memorial Day

We had a fun Memorial Day cookout with our small group. It is really fun being in a group of young families and being able to enjoy growing up together! I only took a few pictures, but here they are.

Hunter and Elijah spent the majority of the afternoon splashing at the water table.
Bode was pretty chill, just soaking up the sun on his blanket.
The whole gang!

A few videos for Lauren (and whoever else is interested).

Lauren texted me the other day and let me know that the blog needed an update (it's good to have a faithful follower) as I promised her a few videos of the kiddos. The first one is Elijah playing baseball (definitely his favorite activity) and the second one is Leah exploring. Unfortunately I haven't been able to capture her really crawling because she stops when she knows the camera is on her. Anyway, for anyone who is interested, but especially for Lauren, enjoy!

The pool is open!

We've been promising Elijah a trip to the pool all week and we were finally able to enjoy it today! It was a beautiful sunny day today and we decided to head over to our community complex since the pool just opened up for the season. It was fun although the water was seriously freezing. Oh well, hopefully it will warm up as the summer goes on.

Leah spent most of her time just sun bathing and people watching. She's her momma's daughter :).
Hi cutie!
The side of the pool has some water spouts that shoot out water into the pool. They kept Elijah entertained for quite some time.
I actually got into the water for E. It was freezing.
Kirk had Leah in the clever holding cell.
Bring on the summer!!

Welcome, Norah!

On Tuesday, May 10th, my sister and brother-in-law welcomed a new precious little daughter, Norah Jillian. She was 6 lbs, 12 oz and 19 inches long and just as sweet as can be! Most of you who know me know that I can't wait to see my nieces and nephew when they are born. As much as I say I will wait, I never do. So, in true Duncan fashion, Kirk and I loaded up the car Tuesday night and headed out to PA. We made it into town by 4:30ish Wednesday morning and were at the hospital by 10:30 holding our new niece :). And, as always, it was well worth the trip! She is an absolute doll and I miss her already! Rach and Shane, congrats! I know you are going to be awesome parents and we can't wait to watch Norah grow. We love you all.

Also, shout out to Lauren and Jimmy...thanks for letting our crazy family of 4 take over your home! You guys are awesome.

Cuddling :).
Sleeping peacefully in my lap.
Look at her perfect little face!
I just can't get enough of little baby hands and feet.
Elijah had fun playing with Grandpa (he's laughing here, not crying)!
4 Duncans and a Weaver!
I love her!

Happy Mothers Day to Me.

I had a wonderful mothers day today thanks to my hubby and kids. First, I got to sleep in while Kirk got up with the kids. Second, I was greeted by my 2 cute kiddos and handsome husband in bed. Elijah handed me a card that was colored on by him and had a poem. This is how it goes:

Mothers do a lot of jobs like clothe and cook and clean
And you do it joyfully, you never do get mean.
Mothers need a lot of grace for when we disobey
Thankfully you have more than most and love us anyway.
You show us God's love dailty from morning til "amen"
And we're the luckiest kids in the world because you're the best mom that's ever been.

Tell me that doesn't melt your heart (something tells me the kids had a little help writing it :)). Then, as if that wasn't enough, Kirk handed me a box with a gift. It was a charm bracelet that says "best mom" and has my 2 kids initials as well as some other colorful beads. I LOVE it. I am so blessed. We headed to church, to Panera for lunch and then had our small group over for some kabobs on the grill. It was a great day.

Thank you, Kirk, Elijah and Leah for making me feel so loved and cherished today. I love being a mom because of you 3!

I made sure to get some photos with kids today especially because it was so nice outside.
Love these 2 (ps. Elijah has his arm around me here...too cute!).
We even got E to smile for the camera (we may have bribed him with a trip to the playground if he did).
LOVE.
Elijah ran off but Leah and I continued our lovefest.
She is just too sweet.
Elijah thoroughly enjoyed wearing his sister's girly hat and yelling "baseball game" repeatedly.

I also want to give a quick shout-out to my mom and mother-in-law. Mom, everything I know about being a mom I learned from you. I aspire to be the kind of mom to my kids that you were to me. Mom Duncan, you raised a good man and that is no small compliment. I am very thankful for you and the example you have set of being a selfless mom (of 5...wow!). Thanks for welcoming me and loving me.

Happy Mothers Day!

Rock Star, Teething Baby, and a Big Boy Potty

That pretty much sums up what our lives look like.

This is Elijah's "rock star" look. He puts on glasses (or one of Leah's headbands) and his guitar and rocks out.
Leah is gumming anything and everything. She has a big white spot on her bottom gum...pretty sure we're getting ready to see a tooth poke through!
And Elijah is a officially growing up :(. Sad face for the growing up, not for the becoming potty trained. I am excited for that!

A few Elijah videos...sorry about the lack of pants :).
