On Saturday night, we met up with Bob and Steph for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Of course, I took no pictures of them, but a few of Elijah hamming it up for the camera. This is his sweet potato face.
I guess he's having a good time.
We left my parents house at 5:30 am on Sunday morning hoping to beat some traffic and make it home mid afternoon. Things were going great until we got a little east of Columbus, when we came up on an accident that turned the interstate into a parking lot. We sat there for 40 minutes before Kirk decided to drive on the shoulder to turn around and take a detour, which took over an hour. So, all in all, this put us back 2 hours. We finally arrived at home at 6:20...almost a 13 hour day.
Here is the view in front of us on the highway.
Here is the view behind us. That little shoulder on the right of the picture is where Kirk drove all the way back to where the barrier ended (about 3/4 of a mile).
The traffic jam was probably Elijah's favorite part of the trip because he got to get out and get some fresh air and walk up and down the highway (with help, he's not walking on his own yet).
