Happy Halloween!

We had a good time celebrating Halloween for the first time as a family.  I think seeing kids in costume is one of my all-time favorite things to do.  Even before I had kids I loved it and now that I have them, it's even more fun! Elijah had been given a superman onesie and cape from Aunt Kelly a little while ago so I decided to just order some tights and get him some red boots (socks) to complete the ensemble.  He looked awesome.  I also found an adorable flower costume for Leah at TJMaxx.  I was so happy the whole night looking at them!

I'm sorry, but Elijah is really into picking his nose right now.
Favorite of the day.
A flower with a double chin.
I definitely thought Elijah would fight me on the whole tights thing, but he didn't care at all! He loved being Superman.
Elijah has been refusing to nap for the last 2 days so by 5 pm, he is wiped out.  He fell asleep on the way to trick or treating :).

After taking some pictures at the house, we headed down to Greenwood for a little Halloween party and trick or treating at our friends house, the Seamans.  We had a great time.  Here is the host family.
We had fun walking around...this is our big crew.
Once Elijah got the hang of it, he loved it.  He said "thank you" and "bye" at every house.  So cute!
Checking out his loot.  The coat made his costume not as cool, but it was unfortunately necessary.
The older kids running to the door. A witch, Dorothy, and a dragon.

I thought surely Leah would fall asleep while we walked around the neighborhood, but no, she stayed awake and happy the whole time!
Have you ever seen a prettier flower?
Elijah dug right in when we got in the car.
...and still digging in at home.
Ahh...it's a good life for Superman.

High School Buds

I am so fortunate that I still have several good friends from high school.  This weekend my good friend Allie came up from Atlanta to hang out with Allison and me.  We had a great time...I just told Kirk it's been a long time since I've had some quality, no kid girl time and this weekend definitely felt therapeutic in that way! Thanks again for coming, Allie and thanks to both of you for being great friends!

Thanks to my friend Bethany I have a recent obsession with a cupcake shop called Gigis.  Allie has one in ATL so she shares the love for it.  We introduced Allison to it yesterday and it did not disappoint!
We also headed to a farm in Noblesville that had a cornmaze.  We felt adventurous and decided to give it a try. We were the only ones there without children but we had no shame in that fact! Allie was a little scared as you can see, but Allison was excited!
Yes, we did climb into a stage coach for a photo.

I don't know why, but when Allie stuck her head in that little hole I couldn't stop laughing. I do know why.  It's hilarious.
Allie and Allison took a shot at the old fashioned art of lasso-ing.  They both roped their prey.
Allie brought Leah this adorable hairbow.  She totally understands my obsession with big bows and flowers! Leah looked SO cute for church today...she even had her pink ugg boots on from Amy and Amy Jo.
Good friends!
I love these girls and they are SO sweet with my kids.

The Farm

Yesterday we headed out to StonyCreek Farm for a little fall fun! We went here last year too and it's also the place we get our Christmas tree each year.  We love this place! They have so many fun things to do.  We enjoyed an elephant ear, apple cider, a hayride, and more!

It's fun to see the changes in Elijah from last year to this year.  Last year, he couldn't walk and this year he was running all over this farm.  He follows his daddy everywhere.

Leah was conked out when we got there.
Family photo on the hayride.
He wouldn't stand still for a picture with the pumpkin, so this is the best we're gonna get.
Following Daddy around the patch.
Leah woke up so we turned her around and let her enjoy the scenery.  Some of these pictures are from Kirk's cell phone since my camera battery died which is why they aren't great quality.
Elijah loved the tractor hayride. He kept saying "Acta! Acta!"
Cute pumpkin face.

Love this one of Kirk and Leah.
They are obviously not interested in picture taking on the bales of hay, but we will take them anyway!
Cute.
And just for fun, Leah was giving me huge smiles the other night and I was sooo happy when I caught this one!
So pretty.

Sundays

I love Sundays for a lot of reasons.  I told Kirk at lunch today that it is exciting to be involved in a church that is passionately seeking to know Christ better and live out His mission.  I love worshipping at East 91st every Sunday and we have been blessed by many of the ministries of this church, including LifeGroups and MOPS.  I also enjoy Sundays because my family is all together and I get to dress up the kids :).  Here's a few shots from today.

Leah wore some adorable pink and brown overalls my mom gave her and cute pink headband from Debbie Cuthbert.  Thank you both!
Happy girl.
Just chillin on the couch.
Elijah was falling over from having Leah lean on him.
Classic.

Lunch with Dad

One of the nice things about Kirk working close to home is that we can meet him for lunch.  We try to do it at least once a week and it's an awesome way to break up my day. Elijah gets so excited when I tell him we're gonna have lunch with Dad.  "Bunch! Dad!"

Leah is ready to go see Dad.
Daddy enjoys seeing us too :). I love this picture.
And Leah is sad to say goodbye!

We love you, Kirk!

Uncle Kyle

Kyle was in the midwest visiting some friends this weekend and he stopped in to see us last night.  It was great to hang out with him for a few hours and for him and Leah to get more acquainted (he had only met her briefly once before).  Since we knew he was coming, we decided to leave her pretty flower on that she wore to church  so that she could be dressed up for his arrival.  He was impressed. His first words were "Leah is looking adorable!"

Thanks for coming, Kyle!

I love this baby and all of her girly-ness.
Buddies.
Elijah and Leah love you, Uncle Kyle!

For your entertainment...

Elijah loves when Kirk plays the guitar. His dance moves are hilarious. Please enjoy.

ps. I know my house is a mess, but that's not the point of this video.

Smart Boy

Elijah is really mastering animal sounds. I think it's hilarious. My favorite one is the cat. The first couple times I ask him he gets it wrong, but keep listening to how he says "meow"...makes me laugh! I knew I was forgetting one animal he knows and it's the bird. Anyway, enjoy!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I had a great birthday with my family.  Last night Kirk and I got to go out on a date. Kirk planned an awesome evening.  We went to the Melting Pot for dinner which is my favorite spot and then out to see "Social Network".  It was really good and the first time I'd been in the theater since Christmas I think! It was our first night out just the 2 of us since Leah has been born...a big thanks to Kirk's cousins Diana and Hannah for watching the kids!

This is our 5th time celebrating my birthday as a couple :).
Kirk was making fun of me for finishing the chocolate fondue off with a spoon.  You can't let it go to waste!
Kirk also had 6 roses waiting for me at the table. Thanks, babe!
